Welcome! Located five miles west of Platte, South Dakota, Prairie Valley Farm is owned and operated by David Mason. We’ve grown our Charolais herd since David’s father bought one top- selling bull in 1980—and since 1989, we’ve sold our top bull calves at the Annual Bull Sale. In 2018, David won the South Central Cattlemen’s Association “Producer of the Year” Award.

We’re proud to serve the people of Platte with honesty and integrity. We’re built on a strong foundation of repeat customers, and we stand behind the bull you purchase.

In addition to sale bulls, we feed our customers’ cattle and finish our own calves. Our grain production consists of corn, wheat, beans, and hay.

I was always told that you can't breed heifers to Charolais, but I talked to Dave, and he pointed me in the right direction. I only use PVF bulls to breed my heifers now, and the calving ease and growth of the calves is something any cattle producer would be happy with.
